It was okay
Probably won’t read any of the follow on books, but this story wasn’t horrible. I’ve definitely seen worse, however parts of the story just didn’t make sense.
Callum, for instance; he’s a strong, capable, able, adult male, not a little kid. The innuendo of his story makes no sense to me. Or Kirsi. Or Edie. Or Ruby. Or anyone really.
Also, spoiler alert, when Brian was killed Killian had zero reaction. None! Neither did his mother other than to say she “loved Arian’s delicious tea”. What???
Maybe in the next books the author will provide some history or back story for the whole setting of the Isle and the characters but this, the first book, was very lacking in my opinion which greatly detracts from the overall plot. Unless it’s not the first book but doesn’t list any other books. There are other characters who are together and you know there has to be a story there, but no where in the intro pages does it list previous books or if this is even a series, trilogy or any other continuation.
