Exciting Treasure Hunting Adventure

Wow! I love Sasha Cottman’s latest book “Stolen By The Rogue”! A thrilling change of pace, it offers adventure of a different sort.

The Honorable George Hawkins is son of a respected senior London judge walking on the wrong side of the law. A founding member of the dirty-dealing, Rogues of the Road, George is a thief. Ready to retire to a life of respectability he hoping for one more score big enough to achieve his means. Not only is George a master thief, he’s a handsome and charming rogue seeking not just one last score but redemption.

Jane Scott is an Antiquities Expert and Curator for the Ottoman Ambassador’s exhibit at the art museum In London. She’s intelligent, educated and independent. She’s hoping once the exhibit is over to find work in London though this is not a job women were allowed to hold. She also has a secret treasure she’s seeking and knows George may be just the one to help her find it.

The characters are so well created and defined. I just loved Jane’s feisty strength, she was a woman ahead of her time and George was such a lovable rogue. The dialogue was just so good, the banter, the wit, the humor and the sweet romantic exchanges. I love how Sasha shows their emotional turmoil through their inner dialogue.

The storyline was fascinating, reminiscent of a cross between Romancing The Stone and Indiana Jones. The plot was engaging and fun and the author’s research and execution was spot on. The romance was fun, sweet, sensual and delightful. This is definitely a must read story!

Thank you so much Ms. Cottman for such a wonderfully delightful reading experience.

Treasure Hunt

George Hawkins is a master thief. His target is the gold and jeweled crown of Baldwin I, a crusader ruler of Constantinople. The crown is part of an exhibition curated by Jane Scott, daughter of an archaeologist and Eastern antiquities expert. After viewing the crown’s exhibit twice, and with his plan in place, George makes his move. Jane, although taken with George, catches and shoots him before he gets his hands on the prize. This is where the story starts. The real story is a treasure hunt. Jane has researched clues to find a treasure given to Charles I’s mistress for safekeeping. When he recovers, he agrees to assist Jane in deciphering the clues and finding the treasure.

This story is a fun mystery and adventure, and a love story with sizzle. Jane is brilliant, determined, stubborn, and by English standards quite worldly. She lost her family in a shipwreck and is alone. George, one of the Rogues of the Road. He is a master thief and the son of a judge (ironic, right?). He has reached a point where he would like to leave his criminal life behind, but he needs to take care of some obligations first. George and Jane work very well together (in a knock-heads kind of way). If they succeed in their quest, their futures are bright, or maybe a future together. An engaging story with interesting characters. I enjoyed and recommend it.
