The flare of a cigarette and the handsome Irishman in the shadows--I wanted it all, but I wasn’t allowed to want.
Ronan was danger and beauty, murder and mercy. To me, he was a mystery, but he was also the only man who ever knew me.
In that single stolen moment before I had to give my life to someone else, I imagined myself with him, the man with scars and bruises. The one who knew what hurting meant far more than I did at that time.
Instead I was given to another man, one who broke my soul right along with my bones.
Through it all, there was always that memory of the man in the shadows, the one who said--not in words--that I was strong, that I could endure, that I was more than just a princess in a ballgown.
Now Ronan is the only man who could keep me safe from two warring families that wanted my blood. The spark that started two years ago burned brighter with each touch, each glance, each kiss. He woke me from the nightmare, giving me life with soft touches and sharp words.
Two years ago, Ronan gave me strength, but he took something in return. I never gave him my heart, but hearts like mine are made to be stolen.

Who did it??
Cannot wait for next book!
Every book in this world is so intense. Even when you may be indirectly connected, you’re life is no easy gig. Poppy is proof positive of that. She’s been through the wringer repeatedly, and couldn’t tell you what happiness & fulfillment in life is. It’s truly tragic. It seems as if she might actually have a chance now. The hot, dark Irish man that’s always lurking around, Ronan, is the last good memory before her marriage to the Senator, and he seems to keep popping up, making her feel things she never has before, and bring a side of her to the surface that has long since been dormant. As she tries to start to have a life again, ominous things start happening and danger knocks on her door. And oh my gosh, the way it left you, I need to know what happens next!!!
A Great Introduction to the Trilogy!
This is a great introduction to this trilogy. We get a fantastic buildup of the characters, great plot development, clashing emotions and of course we’re left desperate for more.
Poppy is an innocent, sheltered young woman discovering herself and the world for the first time, while trying to navigate the secrets and lies that she’s finding suddenly surround her. My heart broke continuously for Poppy throughout the book in ways I was not expecting. I am looking forward to seeing how she develops and finds her way.
Ronan is a mysterious and complex character especially in contrast to the very inexperienced Poppy. We only get tiny glimpses into who he is in this book as he almost gives the impression of a foreboding ghost. He is a character that will be very interesting and intriguing to watch as we move into Broken Hearts.
This is without a doubt a VERY slow burn read, the encounters we get between Ronan and Poppy are intense and they’ll definitely leave you yearning for more.
The overall feeling of this book gave me such conflicted feelings of who or what should or shouldn’t be trusted while leaving me with a sense of incredible things to come.
Stolen Hearts is an amazing start to this twisted, dark romance trilogy, and with that insane cliffhanger, I cannot wait for the next book.
