Description de l’éditeur
A senseless slaughter leads Lucas Davenport down a twisted path in this thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author.
Lucas Davenport has seen many terrible murder scenes. This is one of the worst. In the Minnesota town of Wayzata, an entire family has been killed—husband, wife, two kids, dogs. On the wall, in blood: “Were coming.” No apostrophe.
There’s something about the scene that tugs at Lucas’s cop instincts—it looks an awful lot like the kind of scorched-earth retribution he’s seen from Mexican drug gangs. But this is a seriously upscale town, the husband ran a modest software company, the wife dabbled in local politics. None of it seems to fit.
Until it does...
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A horrific crime the torture murders of Patrick Brooks, his wife, son, daughter, and three dogs at their palatial lakeside home in Wayzata, Minn. propels bestseller Sandford's solid 22nd novel featuring Lucas Davenport of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (after 2011's Buried Prey). That DEA officials believe the killings to be the work of Los Criminales del Norte brings Mexican detective David Rivera and assistant Ana Mart nez to the Twin Cities area, though Brooks's Spanish-language company, Sunnie Software, which peddled its product in Mexico, appears to have been an unlikely money laundry. Since the author makes it clear who the bad guys are early on, the slow revelation of what they've done and how they've done it gives the story its kick. Meanwhile, Lucas, after a couple of meth addicts rob him at an ATM, turns for help to series regular Virgil Flowers, who gets surprising results. Once again, Sandford smoothly blends action and suspense with a soup on of humor. Author tour.

Stolen Prey
O.k. I give. How does John Sandford do it?. Another incredible page turner. Great yarn with an edge of your seat ending. You'd think Lucas Davenport would be tired by now. But no. The only disappointment is waiting for the next Sandford book featuring Lucas and the gang. Meanwhile maybe there's a new Virgil Flowers on the horizon. Hope so.

Stolen Prey
Another terrific Sandford. I love the characters! Excellent mystery/thriller! What a great ride!
Stolen Prey
I have read all of John Sandford's books and enjoyed them a great deal. I found this one to be more formulaic an usual and frankly, boring. I won't be so quick to read another.
