Josephine Peabody was an American poet and writer. Josephine's writing style was highly influenced by works of such poets as William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe and Robert Browning. Her later works reflected her growing concern about the problems of social injustice. She also wrote poems for children and her own retellings of the ancient myths.
'Stories Of The Trojan War' is a short retelling of some episodes from Homer's Iliad. This book consists of three stories: 'The Apple Of Discord', 'The Rousing Of The Heroes', 'The Wooden Horse'. The First story tells us about the apple with the sign 'to the fairest' on it, which becomes the reason of the conflict between Hera, Athena and Afrodite. The second one tells us about the consequences of that conflict which lead to the Trojan War. And the third one is about the cunning trick, performed by Odyssey — The Wooden Horse!
