Storm Over Carolina

The Confederate navy's struggle for control of the waters of eastern North Carolina during the Civil War was bitter, painful, and sometimes humiliating. Despite being burdened by the lack of adequate warships, construction facilities, and ammunition, the South's naval arm fought bravely to stem the tide of the Federal invasion of North Carolina from the sea.
