The governor of New Mexico territory has a plan to end the range war in Furner County: offer amnesty to all criminals involved. U.S. Marshal Earle Conlon—acting in place of the recently deceased sheriff—is ordered to ride out to the Tunstall Ranch and sell the governor’s plan to the most wanted man in the country: Billy Pecos.
