Deputy Colin McLaughlin is never looking for love, but something stirs his blood when former high school crush Hailey strolls back into his family’s Whidbey Island pub. He wants to keep nursing his anger at the woman who betrayed his family and nearly ruined his brother’s life. Instead, the desire burns hotter than ever... Not that he’d ever act on it.
Hailey Alexander knows her past is littered with mistakes. She's worked hard to move on, but a certain Scottish-born deputy isn't in any hurry to forgive or forget.
Can they fight the attraction that's compromising their hearts?

Interesting characters and what seems to be a doomed relationship. Complications keep the story moving
Loved the story of Colin and Hailey. They’ve known each other for years and Hailey played a horrible part in his brother’s history. Misunderstandings and fear make this love/hate relationship an interesting read.

Why do these new authors need to use the F word all the time? That language is not necessary to create an interesting story. It shows how inarticulate and low class they are that they can’t come up with better words to tell their story. Big turn off for me I refuse to finish the story that might have otherwise been good and entertaining . Thank goodness I didn’t spend money on this book. Perhaps these women could take some advise from other women authors who have been successful for many years and were able to acquire that success without having to resort to using common gutter language to sell their books.
