About the author
Sarah Goodwin is a novelist who grew up in rural Hertfordshire.
Sarah graduated in 2014 with an MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University. After writing several historical novels, she decided to write instead about the wild, the darkness and survival, which led to her coming up with the idea for ‘Stranded’, which would become her first professionally published novel.

Suspenseful and disturbing
This story doesn’t turn into a thriller until the second half, but the first is vital to the set up and definitely kept my interest. If you like suspense and overall dark stories, you’ll probably find this one intriguing.
I’m Glad to Live in Modern Times in Civilization and far away from any Scotch island!
This book gave me a strong sense of how tough it was to survive in primitive times. Life was a constant daily struggle to get food, keep warm and stay safe. Truly, only the strongest and smartest could survive.
Stranded is not a comfortable book to read. The horrors of being an outcast and having to survive by your wits and tremendous suffering is made very clear. Life on the island was physically hard and the social structure that developed made it a nightmare,
I found the story to be very informative on survival in the wilderness and learned a lot about mushrooms, which ones are edible and which ones can cause horrible deaths. I had no idea how interesting and beautiful mushrooms were until I began looking them up as I read.
If you are looking for an entertaining adventurous book, this one isn’t for those with a delicate nature. It is disturbing and dark reading. This includes the people involved with the entire television format and production of the story’s reality show. Really ghoulish reading. But it is well-written and is quite an unusual story. I enjoyed it in a creepy way but think I am now ready for lighter fare in my next reading adventure.
