Publisher Description
He's awkward. He's adorable. He's alien as hell.
Zylar of Kith B'alak is a four-time loser in the annual Choosing. If he fails to find a nest guardian this time, he'll lose his chance to have a mate for all time. Desperation drives him to try a matching service but due to a freak solar flare and a severely malfunctioning ship AI, things go way off course. This 'human being' is not the Tiralan match he was looking for.
She's frazzled. She's fierce. She's from St. Louis.
Beryl Bowman's mother always said she'd never get married. She should have added a rider about the husband being human. Who would have ever thought that working at the Sunshine Angel daycare center would offer such interstellar prestige? She doesn't know what the hell's going on, but a new life awaits on Barath Colony, where she can have any alien bachelor she wants.
They agree to join the Choosing together, but love is about to get seriously strange.

Popcorn Alien Love
There's a lot of worldbuilding packed into what is a fun "popcorn movie" of a book, and I am *delighted* by alien physical descriptions that aren't remotely "humans with funny foreheads and slightly improbable nethers," while still letting a bit of ingenuity succeed.
Fun and fluffy, with a few fatalities to give the non-romance side of the plot some sting.
Annoyed
The book was good up until about the 400 pgs which really irritated me bc I was on a roll with reading. For me it’s the “them, they, their” not sure why ppl feel the need to put this in an alien book it’s disturbing bc the whole time I’m thinking this alien has different personalities or demons and no it’s just one plant with mating issues. I wanted to finish but this third person plays a big roll in the second half of the book n I just can’t continue. It was already hard getting over the fingering an alien man n now this. But if your into that stuff it’s a great read
Ready for the next book
I highly recommend this book. Very entertaining with lots of interesting back and forth. Give it a chance you’ll enjoy it.
