The series consists of 5 volumes, and has been selected into the “Thirteenth Five-Year” National Key Book Publication Planning Project and the 2017 National Publishing Fund Project. Studies of the Epic of Sothern China discusses the various forms of transmission, sources, texts, types, artistic features and influences on the literature of later generations of the original epic, heroic epic and migratory epic of more than 30 ethnics in southern China, such as Yi, Miao, Zhuang and Dai. It analyzes the different functions of the southern epic in the sacrificial rituals, production and battle links, life etiquette, and entertainment.
