Not Your Typical Romance
Stumble Stones is the first book by Marilyn Baron I have read so I didn't know what to expect. What I found was a different type of romance novel that surprised me. This is a standalone book with a soft cliffhanger. I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. There is some sex, some violence, as well as descriptions of the horror in Nazi concentration camps.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. The author did a great job of explaining the present day setting and how Hallelujah and Alexander met. There are elements of the story reminded me of the old tv show Scarecrow and Mrs. King. This book is part romance, part suspense/thriller, and part historical. There are a lot of clues in the storyline that keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted.
I look forward to reading more of her books. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
