Successful Program Evaluation

Successful Program Evaluation is intended to demystify evaluation and give the reader the tools to develop stronger grant evaluation sections. It will not tell you how to conduct a full-scale evaluation with control groups and statistical outcomes, which I believe requires more training than one book can promise (most professional evaluators are Ph.D.’s). A grantwriter or program director doesn’t need to be able to produce full-scale evaluations, you just only have understand evaluation enough to decide whether and how to approach it, and to be able to describe it. 


Program evaluation is the key to an organization's success. Analyzing program outcomes can help you improve in areas that need extra attention and implement cost efficiencies. It gives you the opportunity to evaluate whether what you're doing is working, and if it's not, to make the necessary changes.
