Marigold Kinderley’s uncle kept her wrapped in cotton wool. So Lady Sylvia found a way to take Marigold home with her for summer break. When Terence Kinderley discovered Marigold missing, he assumed she had fled to the border with the dancing master. Sylvia’s mother Alicia discovered the deception. Though Alicia and Terence were attracted to each other, she kept her secret when he returned. Regency Romance Novella by Charlotte Louise Dolan; originally published by Signet in a novella collection
This book is a sweet and light story that very enjoyable. I do not find it as good as other books by this author, but it is fun. It is not strictly historically accurate at all times, but the appealing characters and the hope that the uncle will “loosen up,” so to speak, compensates.
Sweet story, no evil person. Happy ending for all.
What joy it is to read her stories again!
I've missed "hearing" her voice. This is a sweet novella, and I think I need to get the rest of her available ebooks VerySoonNow.
