This book grabbed me right from the beginning and I was surprised because the premise did not sound like it would be something I would love. It had dogs, so I was in. The story dealt with grief and loss of a parent in a way that truly resonated with me. I enjoyed how Ali basically followed her heart from the beginning with Ethan, even when she was worried, but I also got a tiny bit frustrated with her. I did love her dedication to her children. Ethan, wow, talk about delicious…he was charming, sweet, patient, and extremely loveable.
