Hoping for a Novel Series, Left Me Wanting Even More
Jennifer Levine, in her debut novel Summer Secrets, manages to bring up challenging subjects - including adolescent sexuality, rape and marriage fidelity - while writing in an accessible and entertaining style. As I enjoyed reading the novel, I found myself rooting for certain characters and while wanting to throw something at others. Ms Levine ultimately offers us and her characters hope, even as you wonder what the future has in store for her novel's characters. I hope she writes a series so we may get to know this family better as they take the next steps in their fictional lives.
