Sometimes the happiness we’re looking for has been there all along…
Adele and Justine have never been close. Born twenty years apart, Justine was already an adult when Addie was born. The sisters love each other but they don’t really know each other.
When Addie dropped out of university to care for their ailing parents, Justine, a successful lawyer, covered the expenses. It was the best arrangement at the time but now that their parents are gone, the future has changed dramatically for both women.
Addie had great plans for her life but has been worn down by the pressures of being a caregiver and doesn’t know how to live for herself. And Justine’s success has come at a price. Her marriage is falling apart despite her best efforts.
Neither woman knows how to start life over but both realize they can and must support each other the way only sisters can. Together they find the strength to accept their failures and overcome their challenges. Happiness is within reach, if only they have the courage to fight for it.
Set in the stunning coastal town of Half Moon Bay, California, Robyn Carr’s Sunrise on Half Moon Bay examines the joys of sisterhood and the importance of embracing change.

So rise on Half Moon Bay
I was really hesitant to purchase and read this book after reading so many negative reviews. Once again Robyn Carr did not disappoint, it may not be her best book, but it was still excellent. Life can be messy at any age and heartbreak can happen. This story has some difficult themes that may not be to your liking, but definitely worth the read.
Robyn fan
Success at mending and starting over at a wise and healthy level is depicted in an interesting way. Robyn is a prolific successful writer.
Where’s the rest of the story?
After slogging through the interminable first half of the book it finally got interesting enough to hold my attention and then slowly rolled into the station, only to abruptly slam to a start with an absurd epilogue leaving no story arcs satisfactorily concluded. I read this because I love the Virgin River series. The series characters were all people you could relate to and the scenery was breathtaking. Silly me to assume the cinematography and the script writing were as a result of excellent writing in the original published books.
Oh and as a graduate of UC Berkeley, I wanted to first point out that we call our school Cal, and it’s most certainly not part of the California State College system. Maybe she got it confused with what’s locally called Sac State. Or SF State. Or even UC Santa Cruz. Cal alumni never refer to their college as Berkeley. Never ever. Cal Berkeley maybe.
