So good!
This poor girl has been through so much, her father dying, her “Aunt” getting marked, almost getting marked herself, finding out that the person she’s always called dad might not actually be her dad, finding her mom, falling in love, watching her boyfriend bleed to death right in front of her eyes and not being able to do anything for him, not being able to grieve for that boyfriend, and then donating her blood to save those around her! I feel bad for Ruby, carrying that burden by herself. She seems to blame herself for everything, when none of it is her fault. This is the story of a noble girl determined to save her friends and family, even if it kills her...
Much better than the first book
I struggled to get through the first book, but this one was sooooo much better. Thank goodness, the premise is very interesting. I’m going to check out the next book. I think it will be just as good as this book, if not better.
Suppressed
I'm not one for reading books but as soon as I started reading the first one, I bought the second and read it twice as fast. I don't think I've ever felt such a roller coaster of emotions with reading a book before. I've cried, laughed, and felt what the characters are felling along the way. Such a great book!
