Not what I was expecting from Georgia
In Sweet Torment, Claudia is seventeen no longer the little girl following behind her brother and his friends. Bram is twenty-three and has taken notice of the changes to Claudia’s body.
I felt Claudia’s sexual dialogue was overkill. I felt it was used to help alleviate her age and make her appear more mature and not so naive.
Sweet Torment was a countdown until Claudia’s eighteenth birthday. Claudia and Bram’s primary concern was sex. I would have thought after growing up together they could spend the last few months bonding in non sexual ways. I hate to say this, but Georgia used too many adjectives to describe the sexual encounters. I found offense to too many words when this was suppose to be a lighthearted contemporary romance. This read like a tutorial on how to take a young girls virginity.
Where is the Georgia Cates that wrote the Beauty series? The writing style was lacking the angst and powerful words used to make me ache for more. This was not a page turner story for me.
I should have paid more attention to the words novella. This was a short story that included Tap. Wish I had known that.
