I sighed. "I don't care. Send her in." She'd already seen me naked. I might as well exchange a few words.

Mark left and returned with the woman. She had a bit of a smile on her face. I simply stood there, still in my bra and jeans, looking at her a bit skeptically.

"Hey, look, I just wanted to apologize for what happened."

I shrugged, folding my arms. "It's not your fault."

"I know, but I still wanted to apologize. Mark and I usually have a little more discretion than that."

"Whatever. He just should have told me."

"You're right. He should have." She paused a moment, and I noticed her eyes flick down and then back up, scanning me. "What is your name?"

"Katie."

"Nice to meet you, Katie. I'm Lauren. I just wanted to officially introduce myself and let you know that if you wanted to, uh, continue things with Mark, it's fine with me."

I wasn't quite sure how to respond to that. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to continue or not. The little incident had thrown me off, but at the same time, I had come over to do something fun and maybe a little bit crazy. I wasn't really ready to go home.

In my silence, I realized that Lauren had been checking me out. She chuckled.

"You are super cute, by the way. Not sure how Mark landed a little cutie like you."

"Quiet, you," Mark said, and she elbowed him playfully.
