Description de l’éditeur
For Serena Otaki, free-spirited Californian, life is simple. She loves smashing atoms at The Large Hadron Collider near Geneva, Switzerland. She loves Star Trek, spicy tofu, and her cat, Captain Purrk. She loves her messy (slob-fest) apartment, her chaotic brand of organizing, and staying permanently, happily unattached.
Life is perfect. She has one true love—physics.
Loving a man isn't in her future.
For Henry Joule, uptight Brit, life is simple. He loves making analog black holes, drinking piping hot tea, and organizing his pencil tray. He loves his family, red meat, and obsessively cleaning his spotless apartment.
Life is perfect. He has many loves—physics, family, friends. He can't wait to find the woman of his dreams.
Love and marriage are in his future.
One perfect night Serena and Henry meet. Sparks fly, particles collide, the universe comes to a halt, and…
It was a mistake.
They're too different.
It won't work.
Love isn't in their future.
Until an electric storm causes an unexpected event at the particle collider and suddenly—they've switched.
Serena is in Henry's body.
Henry is in Serena's body.
And both life and love are suddenly very, very complicated.

Opposites Attract in this Body Switching Story
4.5 rounded to 5 ⭐️ on Goodreads and retailer websites. Switched is the second book in the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready. In Ghosted, a young woman found the ghost of a man in her new apartment and the two fell in love. Switched is about that woman’s best friend, Serena Otaki, a free-spirited California girl who worked at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva Switzerland. She loved physics, coffee, Star Trek, her cat, and her own brand of disorganized chaos. She was happily unattached and planned to stay that way. Henry Joules was a buttoned up Brit who was about to start a new job as Serena’s new supervisor. He loved physics, piping hot tea, his family, red meat, dogs, and obsessively cleaning his immaculate apartment. He was looking forward to settling down with the woman of his dreams. Right before Henry started his job, the two met and came together for a magical night and love at first sight, from which Serena fled, purposely sabotaging any potential for a relationship. They were too different to be compatible, and love was not in their future. Then one night there was an electrical event at the particle collider and when they woke up, Serena was in Henry’s body and Henry was in Serena’s. They had two weeks vacation during which they needed to find a way to switch back while traveling across the world together visiting each other’s families, always in each other’s company. Suddenly life and love had become very complicated indeed.
Just as I loved Ghosted, Switched was a hit for me. The differences between Serena and Henry’s personalities were significant and when contrasted against the inclinations of the bodies they were inhabiting, the outcome was comedy gold. I loved how the author used the characters’ experiences in each other’s shoes to create the understanding and acceptance which was necessary to take two very different individuals and fuse them into a believable couple. I adored Henry and Serena, two very likable characters who truly fit together despite their apparent incompatibility. I laughed so hard I cried a number of times while reading this story. The audiobook was wonderful and the narrators were absolutely perfect. I wholeheartedly recommend this paranormal, one night stand, enemies to lovers, opposites attract love story to readers who love romantic comedy. I am voluntarily writing this honest review after reading/listening to an advanced complementary copy of this book thanks to Netgalley and W.W. Crown, an imprint of Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC.
Lots of laughs!
Sarah Ready always brings it, and this is no exception! Something out of the norm and completely lovable. A big bang that causes a freaky Friday kind of vibe, with lots of fun and laughs. Serena & Henry are quite opposite, yet need each other to help them get back to themselves. Laughs, fun & love. All the feelings I have about this!
