Slow start but worth it
I have to say when I first started this book, I thought it would be a book I could not finish. The first few chapters of the book were a little slow going. But am I glad I continued to read. Once the action started, it never stopped. The main characters were amazing. When I said slow burn, I mean it in the best way. When the MC got together, it was like an instant explosion. The strength the characters show, not just physically but emotionally is amazing. I especially liked that the male main character was secure enough to give the FMC space when she needed it, but was there for her too. I would recommend this book to read!.

The best part of this book is the main male character. Oz was amazing! I adored him from practically the first. He was so incredible and reminded authenticity himself the entire book. Surprisingly the thing I liked least was the main female character, Emily. She was self centered, inconsistent and for a woman who was supposed to be intelligent and educated, she rarely demonstrated either. While Oz deserves a better woman, she’s the one he loves and I just want him to be happy.
Parts of this story were predictable but there were also many surprises and it kept my attention. The end provides the desired HEA for Oz and Emily but the underlying story is far from over and I’m sure we will see plenty of them in future books in the series. Their are so many interesting other characters that I know will feature in other books and I’m really looking forward to them all.
Great Start to the Series
Emily is a slave of Apsyans being tortured with experiments by day and forced to perform death-defying acts at night. The slaves wished to escape. Oz is from another faction of Zulir who live on the planet's moon. His people are not cruel and do not hold captives. He and his crew are undercover, trying to retrieve one of their assets. He is impressed by Emily’s performance, and he determines to save her. When the escape plan goes awry, Oz and Emily stay, hiding until they can be picked up. They learn much about each other. The chemistry between Oz and Emily is electric, truly. This is an exciting story filled with adventure, danger, and sizzling romance. Great start to a new series.
