Different

I know it said this was a stand alone book, but in the beginning until close to midway, I felt like I missed the whole beginning of the story and jumped in part way. Once I got close to the middle, it all started pulling together and I finally held interest and got caught up in the characters and their lives. By the end, I was fully invested in all of it and enjoyed it very much. The love of friends and family and their comradery was excellent.
