Sooo they finally ‘combusted’ and it was a lot throughout the whole book. Wasn’t expecting so much since book one had almost zero. I didn’t like that I got no closure with the best friend. That angle was left out completely in the end. The bonus material touched on her mom a little but still felt like no closure. The car show … and her work gaining new clients … also no closure there. Yeh she realized she was “winning” but it was so much ‘trauma’ and focus on the negative, that the story didn’t feel like a positive win.. it felt like sad, sappy, drama, instead of talking about her success if there was any, with the show. The MMC and his dad had no closure as well. Tomlin and Dani had a HUGE decision to make about his future and the whole first part of the book talks about that… but did the end of the book talk about it.. no. No closure on his job, either. Yes the story ended “happily” between them. If you call a giant blow up and then talking it out happy. But it wasn’t all tied up in a pretty little bow. It left me with lots of questions. The big “climax” of the story, the “lie” felt like it was VERY overdone, overly dramatic, immature on her part, then a weird explanation on his part.. idk just not how I see reality playing out. Again, like the first story, she’s always super angry, quickly, over the smallest things. Not a desirable trait and this book didn’t make it look cute. Too many things left unsaid.
