Single dad Jesse Carmichael met the perfect woman in Last Chance Beach, but when she heard about his three children, she bailed. Hard.

But Jesse has a plan.

Eva Fontaine has stepdaughters in the custody of their grandparents. She's the only mother they remember, and she moved across the country to be near them. Her life is centered on staying in their lives while avoiding handsome, caring Jesse.

Eva refuses to get involved with another single dad. Falling for Jesse means loving his children. She's done that once and her heart can't take another beating if she should lose them, too.

But Jesse has a new plan to help her and desperate Eva's onboard with it.

Until his children throw another insurmountable obstacle in their paths.

Now, Jesse has a plan for that, too.

At Last Chance Beach love takes a stand…

Heartwarming… Touching … Full of Emotion

Jesse’s not really a stubborn man, but he sure is determined. As a widowed father of three, he’s ready to move on. Yes, he’s ready, but he is picky. When he finds the right woman, he’ll fight tooth and nail to help her get her children back. He surely knows how a spouse’s death impacts a family and especially the children. That ‘right’ woman he found, her name is Eva and her girls aren’t her biological children. Now they are with grandparents.

Eva needs to learn the word ‘never’ will ‘never’ work … not with Jesse. But before we go there, you need to know a little about Eva. She ‘says’ she’s not interested. No way is she going to fall for a man with children…. not again. So, she uses Jesse then tells him she’s not interested. Ahhh, but she gets jealous when she sees him talking poolside to another woman. Yep, Eva doesn’t know what she wants. The night she ‘used’ Jesse was the one year anniversary of her husband’s death. So, it’s easy to see she’s got a lot going on inside that mind of hers.

As for Jesse, he knows exactly what that emotional ledge Eva is on feels like. He’s been there. Different circumstances but loss is loss and grief is pain. He can relate. Jesse knows if he is to stand a chance to get through all that ‘traffic’ in Eva’s mind, he needs a plan. And watching that plan unfold will be worth turning the pages.

✒︎ “Eva sniffed. “I’m pathetic. I’m a mom with no kids. I’m a wife with no husband. And I’m in a battle to save my future with the kids I don’t have. No man will want to deal with my huge mess.”

✒︎ “Have you had your family tree done?”
He blinked at the change of topic. “No. Why?”
“You must be a descendent of the Machiavelli family. You’re more devious than anyone I’ve ever known.”
He put on an expression of pure innocence. “But I only use my powers for good.”

Excellently Heartwarming Story

I was excited to read this book. This was a wonderful coming together of a blended family. I felt for Eva and the turmoil that she had to endure for her to possibly get her happy ending. Loved getting to know and and reading about the kids: Raine, Thea, Tyler, Sophie and Jilly. Watching them all grow, go through hardship and come together was amazing. Great read and I highly recommend this wonderful story.
