PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
After his faith-based tale of a demon serial killer who shocked New York in Driven, Griffiths brings the evil Krogan back to continue his reign of terror in the world of professional wrestling in this rather lukewarm sequel. Det. Gavin Pierce and his pregnant wife, Amy, are happily settling into married life and trying to put the past behind them. But it's not long before the imprisoned Krogan (captured in a tortoise's body at the end of the last novel) finds a way to escape, wreaking mayhem as a professional wrestler and taking revenge on the Pierces. And if Krogan isn't enough of a headache, Gavin also finds himself coping with a terrorist who is bent on committing homicide on a grand scale. The action soon peaks in the wrestling ring, and the final showdown between Gavin and Krogan is almost a footnote. While the novel graphically portrays the reality of evil and provides some entertaining segments, it lacks the originality and strength of its predecessor. One of the most disappointing aspects of the book is the character of Amy, who began her fictional life as a sassy, brainy woman and ends up here as a helpless victim who whines, decorates the house and gets in the way. Dialogue is heavy in spots, and the gore occasionally goes over the top for faith-based fiction (one victim is found with a Scripture verse carved into his chest). Fans of the first book will likely find this one a bit of a letdown.

Takedown by W.G. Griffiths
Eyes pop wide in fear. Mouths gape in awe. Snap, crack, crunch, groan.....eerie silence. Behind all the unconscionable chaos; hear echoes of demonic, maniacal laughter as a swath of destruction looms.
Takedown delivers. Sheer conflict and shivers! The devil incarnate. The evil psycho you live, to love, nto hate. Strap yourself in for a turbulent ride. Nothing short of nail biting, hackle raising throughout.
A commuter train suddenly derails.....act of God? act of terrorism? or HEss, a soldier of terror among the ranks of "The Chosen" acting on God's behalf, carrying out God's plan.
Imagine a serene day out on the water, fishing, enjoying the smell of salt and sea, when SCHBLAMMY! a deluge of horror happens right before your eyes!
Who among us, while chugging along with our thoughts, hasn't felt trepidation after witnessing a speed demon, hell on wheels in the form of a motorcyclist, jet by weaving in and out of traffic, without regard for life. Theirs or anyone elses. That Varrooooom that fills your ears. Then impulsively you flinch, brake and that little poof of hot, stale air hits your face. Well, that's mild compared to "Krogan" wreaking havoc on a Harley! He really just needs to be taken down! That panic, rush of emotion mixed with adrenalinethat leaves you breathless and exhausted is all through this novel.
Watch first hand as Krogan's reign of demonic terror continues to run rampant on Gavin & Amy, Buck & his granddaughter , members of the WWX, and anyone else who dares to simply cross his path in this even more convoluted sequel to "Driven" by W. G. Griffiths. Gavin becomes more conflicted as he struggles with his own faith, while transitioning from hunter to protector. There are angels among us, all around in fact. Will they be enough to help Gavin attain the faith needed to quell the devil?
Prepare to be sucked right into the "scenes" in this novel.
Words in a W.G. Griffiths novel do not stay simply printed on the pages. They come to life! Descriptions so vivid, you are no longer reading. You are watching, totally mesmerized, on the edge of your seat. The words just spring in to action, becoming a graphic display of imagery in your head.
Don't be surprised if the twists in this book leave you un-nervingly looking over your shoulder as well as taking a second and more thorough look and wondering; demon or angel.....with everyone, everywhere you go.
A friendly word of caution:
Take care in whose path you cross next......you just never know...."Hele hemu lapuwale!"
