Taken

A fantastic end to this series!

I’ve loved every book in the Undone series. I don’t read many books with Dominant/submissive relationships, but this series is so emotional and beautifully written that the love stories transcend any one trope or genre. Plus, I know anything written by Jennifer Dawson is going to be a fantastic read for me. Taken is my favorite in the series, both because we’ve been waiting for Brandon’s story for a long time and because we get to spend quite a bit of time with the three couples from the previous books in the series. Brandon has finally met his match in Veronica, whose family travels in the same privileged circles as his own. He has vowed never to touch anyone from that social class, as well as having a strict moral code that does not allow him to become personally involved with anyone who works for him. But Veronica threatens his carefully constructed controlled persona, and soon he is breaking all his rules for her. Veronica is one her own path to self discovery, wanting to leave her life of privilege behind and find her own way. She is convinced that Brandon is a kindred spirit, having shunned their social circle, and can teach her how to make her way in this new life starting with hiring her to run his businesses. She is relentless in her pursuit of the position, and eventually their explosive chemistry and close proximity blurs the line between personal and professional. It’s very satisfying to watch the controlled, smug Brandon follow his Dominant friends down his path to his forever love. I’m so sad to say goodbye to this group of friends, but I loved the epilogue where we get a glimpse of everyone’s future happiness. I’m looking forward to seeing what Ms. Dawson has in store for us next.
