Founded in 1944, TAMKO has evolved into a  successful manufacturer of building and roofing materials. In 2014, the book TAMKO: A Constancy  of Purpose reflected on their rich history and 70 years in business. This new edition highlights TAMKO’s significant advancements in the past decade, while commemorating its 80th anniversary. 


In recent times, the company forged into high performance roofing to further expand its product line, driven by changes in customer  preferences. This expansion required deep commitment across the company to innovate and evolve. 


Traditionally driven by the principles of  Dr. W. Edwards Deming, along with the implementation of Six Sigma in 2002, TAMKO’s continuous enhancement efforts have resulted in breakthroughs in product development, manufacturing processes and vertical integration. TAMKO’s next chapter is being written through its ongoing efforts to embrace technology company-wide, including AI and machine learning, as part of its Autopilot strategic initiative. 


The company’s civic engagement has been demonstrated by its ongoing community  contributions. TAMKO has not only contributed millions of dollars, but also tens of thousands of volunteer hours to the communities in need across the nation.
