Classic adventure story
Tarzan books were a big part of my pre-teen and early teenager
Reading. At that time I had no idea of how much prejudice and general ignorance pervaded Burroughs writing. I found myself amused at times and disgusted at others. I’m giving this book a 3.5 for its entertainment value, while feeling a bit sad at the demise in my eyes of a childhood hero. Still if one can ignore the racial and gender slurs, these books are entertaining due to the wild imagination of the author. When done right, leaving the obvious white supremacy beliefs out, these novels have the potential to be fun movies.
