Central America. An ancient Maya kingdom long since forgotten by time and a madman intent on resurrecting the past glory of a fallen civilization.

Geograpyh professor Jonathan Gant. While conductiong a student research trip into the region, he inadvertently stumbles into the middle of a third-world upheaval. Manipulated by the CIA, he becomes a pawn in a power struggle that pits strong versus weak---good versul evil. Pitted against incredible odds, Gant is forced to choose between the two, but things are not always as they seem. In the tropical jungle, he comes to realize that insanity is the norm. Only he can put an end to the madness, but first he must survive. Then he has to unravel an ancient mystery--- the mystery of Tayasal.
