A good friend for study abroad students.

I am a second year Ph.D student in Massachusetts State University, and I major in politial science. When I chat with my colleague and friends, I always mention that I missing Chinese food quite a lot. Since our university locates in a small towm when we want to eat Chinese food, we have to drive almost 60 miles to another place to eat. I am so sorry to say that I was not good at cooking before I came to the U.S. I was struggling with my cooking for a long time. I have no idea about what I can cook after 10 hours working in my office. Well, everything didn't go well until I found this book: Teach yourself cooking Chinese food in on month.
To some extent, I feel it is iconic to learn cooking from a book, especially I am a Chinese person and I have to learn how to cook Chinese food from an English writing book. However, I would likt to say this book is distinguished. Because we can't find every Chinese recipe in America super market, what we can do is to find some else to replace the original ones. The book uses simple sentence and instruction to explain how to cook Chinese dishes--the family style dishes. In common sense, spinach, eggplant, potato, celery, broccolo, mushroom, pork, chicken, and tofu are the basic ingredients. And I do believe I can cook my Chinese food with these ingredients following the guides of this book.
Right now, I cook my Chinese food following the content of the book. When I would like to get some noodles, I will check the instruction of Clear Noodles in Chili Sauce. Well, I have to admit that I am meat lover, and Braised Meat Ball in Brown Sause and Double Cooked Pork Slices are my favorite.

an assistant for my purpose

My girlfriend Kyth and I have been in a relationship for roughly four years. We have a deal that every day on July 23 will have the anniversary celebration. We went to Intalian Resturant, Red Lobster and Hugo's in the past three years. Whatn I want to do this year is a ittle bit special. I would like to cook dinner for her at hom. Lyth immigrated to the U.S with her parents when she was thirteen. I can understant that she's kind of American girl, but I also know she loves Chinese food quite a lot, especially traditional Chinese foo. Well, I have no idea how to cook Chinese food. So I asked some friends. Jack recommended me a book, and he guranteed that I can learn to cook Chinese food in two weeks. Therefore, I listen to his advice and start to practice cooking.
What attracts me most in this book is the structure. I have no idea how to cook Chinese fod and what kinds of cooking material I need. Teach yourself cook Chinese food in half a month uses the pictures as the guideline to introduce each step. I would like to say it is very clear and understandable. I went to the 99 supermarket and a Korean supermarket to buy the materials. When I couldn't find out the materilas, I just shown the pictures from the book to the customer service. Currently, I have already learned how to cook soups and porrides. I am very confident with Minced Pork Congee with Preserved Egg and Pumpkim Porridge with Tremella. Also, I am an expert at Stewed Chicken Wings with Mushroom. I still get several days to prepare the anniversary dinner. Hopefully, Kyth will love my cooking.

I have been working at a university in Kansas for several years. I am a host of a friendship family. My husband and I are the fifth year to do this. We have three Chinese girls who are currently studying in my university. I am so proud of them. We hope my Chinese daughters not only learn the professional knowledge here, but also they can feel warm here and get familiar with local American culture. However, my Chinese girls bring a lot of suprise for me, and our Chinese food journey begiins with a book, Tech yourself cooking Chinese food in one month.
When I begin to read this book, what suprises me is the structure of the book that the readers can get the picture instructions. I feel it is easy to follow the path and understand the method very clearly.
The way to women's heart is through her virginity, and the way to man's heart is through his stomach. To some point, I believe I catch both my husband's heart and my Asian children's heart through their stomach. Right now, I cook pork and chicken in Chinese style rather than BBQ style. I know my Asian kids love haing Fish-Flavored Shredded Pork rather than Flat Fish combination or Smoky Hamburger. And I want to be a nice family friendship mother to satisfy their likeness.
