TEE 101 for the Mitral Repair Surgeon

This trans-esophageal echocardiography (TEE) guide aims to take the cardiac surgeon in training through a focused stepwise approach to evaluating the mitral valve (MV). It provides a comprehensive view into MV repair using medical illustration, stills and video.


When performing MV repair, TEE is an essential part of the operation. This guide aims to serve as a tool for the learner to better understand the utility of intra-operative TEE and to ultimately improve the quality of his/her MV repair.
