Telecommunications

The telecommunications industry in the United States is growing approximately 12% per
year. Its contribution to the Gross National Product (GNP) by the year 2000 is expected to be
greater than 20%. Today this $335 billion dollar industry is approximately 6% of the GNP.
Computers and computing services are approximately 10% of the GNP. The U.S. represents
approximately one third of the world market in telecommunications.
