Imagine you have the innate ability to see the future. Now, imagine you're also a high-schooler on a date and in the middle of an assassination attempt where your date becomes riddled with bullets and you end up in the hospital on an alien space ship for some reason. To make things worse, the assassination attempt was for you - your date was an android who failed to kill you previously.

And the whole predicting the future thing? That's false. You change the future by imagining what's going to happen. And now you're wanted by galaxies of aliens and Gods alike who wish to control the very power which makes you unique.

Tempt the Fates is the start of a short-story series about a brother and sister who keep finding themselves learning about the world around them through the most difficult means possible. Maybe it's all a euphemism for growing up - maybe it's nothing more than a magical story about a smart-mouthed kid and his stubborn older sister...you decide.
