Just breathe, Kacey. Ten tiny breaths. Seize them. Feel them. Love them.
Four years ago, Kacey Cleary’s life imploded when her car was hit by a drunk driver, killing her parents, boyfriend, and best friend. Armed with two bus tickets, Kacey and her fifteen-year-old sister, Livie, escape Grand Rapids, Michigan, to start over in Miami. They’re struggling to make ends meet at first, but Kacey’s not worried. She can handle anything—anything but her mysterious neighbor in apartment 1D.
Trent Emerson has smoldering blue eyes and deep dimples, and perfectly skates that irresistible line between nice guy and bad boy. Hardened by her tragic past, Kacey is determined to keep everyone at a distance, but their mutual attraction is undeniable, and Trent is desperate to find a way into Kacey’s guarded heart—even if it means revealing an explosive secret that could shatter both their worlds.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Years after a horrific car crash that almost killed her, 20-year-old Kacey Cleary is struggling to get her life on track despite still being plagued by nightmares, guilt and depression. K.A. Tucker’s intense new adult romance features an engaging, neurotic heroine who’s hilariously sarcastic and irreverently honest. After moving to Miami with her precocious little sister, Kacey warily befriends her new neighbours—including the gorgeous and enigmatic Trent Emerson—and makes startling, life-changing connections.
“I don’t hate him. I can’t. I loved him. If I’m honest with myself, I may still love him. I don’t even care that he basically stalked me. I don’t know why I don’t but I know that I don’t.”
At first I had mixed feelings about this book but the more I read, the more I started to liking it.
It was definitely different from what I read before.
Kacey and Livie had perfect sister bond. Starting their new life in Miami and with big help from Storm, Mia and Trent, they both saw a light in the tunnel to make everything better.
Kacey just like Trent was mysterious to me. Kacey with her holding hands thing with other people and Trent with his living/past situation. Both had hart time sharing informations about themselves but at the same time, they felt so comfortable in each other company.
At some point, I had some suspicion about Trent but…..I did NOT expect to cry waterfalls at 2am 😭😭….and it wasn’t just once. It was really deep and raw - just like Trent’s confession.
First Timer (Romance Novel)
