Tender Rot

Jeune Moreau lives in isolation, sickly and trapped in her crumbling Louisiana estate, cared for by her younger half-brother Elias, who has become her only companion after their father's death. The house and its history are steeped in rot: literal, emotional, and spiritual. As Elias grows into a man, their bond deepens into something obsessive and taboo.

Jeune struggles with chronic illness, racial trauma, and generational abuse, watching from the shadows as Elias becomes the charming face of the Moreau legacy. But when she meets Isaiah—a kind, church-going man who sees her as a person, not a possession—Jeune glimpses a life outside the estate's grip.

As she begins to hope for freedom, Elias's love turns possessive and violent, culminating in Jeune committing a desperate act to reclaim her autonomy. But some sins do not stay buried, and the past—embodied by Elias—returns to exact its price.
