Publisher Description
Stephanie Courtland has two very secret, very dangerous girlfriends who haunt her life with extreme compulsions and mysterious blackouts. She doesn't question what she does during these periods, but she dreams of blood on her hands. She has sharper memories of Ray Franklin, the man who molested her as a child and brutally killed her mother. The experience altered her in ways no one suspected and made her forever wary of men.
She's about to face a deadly dilemma: Franklin is free from prison and there's a new man in her life.
Marcus Graham is an ultra-wealthy investor and his selection of Courtland's advertising agency for a multi-million dollar project is motivated by her creativity and beauty. The deal is a dangerous one: Graham's former agency doesn’t like losing and will do almost anything, including murder, to regain his business. Courtland's girlfriends react poorly to anything that threatens her and if she loses control of them what price will she be willing to pay? She'll need to decide quickly - they’re all about to be caught up in a string of gruesome murders and a pair of killers heading for their doorstep.

Thought-provoking, well-written, a worthwhile read
Terminal Impulses by Michael McDonald-Low is a 5 star read. This psychological suspense thriller by a new author and his co-author, clinical psychologist Dr. Jeremy Senske, had me captivated from the very beginning.
The lead character of the book is Stephanie Courtland. When she was twelve, she was sexually assaulted by her stepfather and witnessed him killing her mother. It changed her and taught her to be wary of men. Over the years the few times she trusted her heart very bad things happened. She doesn't know what she does during these periods, but she's been told by Beth and Tiffany not to worry.
SPOILER ALERT! Beth and Tiffany? You won't believe those girls. They're the by-products of a deadly compulsion to protect Stephanie and they absolutely do not tolerate men who lie to her. Sound interesting? It is and just a little bit strange and creepy, because you really can't believe something like this can happen in real life, but it does.
As I read further into the book I kept making my own predictions about what would happen next - it was so fun, even when they turned out to be so wrong! The detailed descriptions of the characters and scenes really puts you there in the book and feeling connected with the action and the drama that takes place. The backdrops of Portland, San Francisco and Seattle were also different and refreshing. There's an edge to Terminal Impulses that makes it highly readable . . . I couldn't put it down.
I would recommend this book for anyone (especially women) over 18 who wants a very different type of suspense thriller with a non-stop pace.
