Who turned up the heat?

Classically-trained chef Delilah Corbyn walked away from the cutthroat celebrity kitchen world to return to her hometown of Last Stand, Texas. Delilah’s excited to open her own restaurant where she can finally make decisions without being scrutinized by the media. She thinks she’s living her dream until the new “it” chef saunters into town with a wink and a challenge. Delilah can handle heat in the kitchen, but he stirs up passions she’d long ago buried.

Jock Rossi has come a long way in the culinary world for someone who isn’t formally trained. Now he’s a rising chef with fame and money finally within his grasp. Determined to attract investors, he launches his latest restaurant in Last Stand. But when he meets his local competition, Jock’s plans skew off course. Delilah’s not only as talented as she is beautiful, she’s impossible to fool. Or forget.

Can Jock win her heart with his secret recipe or are they only destined to battle it out in the kitchen?

Stop telling what the book is about if you’ve already read it

I purchased this book because I’ve been following the series of everyone & everything happening in Last Stand Texas. I love each and every one of them, but I was disappointed when I read the review before I started to read, to find that some was telling what was in the book, things I would’ve like finding it out for myself. So please don’t do that. Tjanks

Texan for the Taking

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is the final Corbyn Sisters book in Last Stand, Texas. While this is a part of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I personally would read all of the books as they are wonderful stories.

Delilah Corbyn is the owner and head chef of the Dragonfly restaurant in Last Stand. She studied at the C.I.A (Culinary Institute of America). She also worked under a chef who stole ideas from her and claimed as his own, causing her to return home. Jock Rossi is a famous TV chef and is coming to Last Stand to open up a restaurant. He believes if he fails in the smaller arena then his hard-earning reputation won’t be destroyed. He is more of a fantastic home-style chef who was taught by his half Cajun / half Italian family.

This is a book that brings in an element of mystery as to Delilah’s former boss, Drew Miller. This is especially true once Delilah finds out that Drew issued a challenge to Jock for a show show-down. Did Drew issue the challenge as Jock was coming to Last Stand to open the restaurant? Is Jock using Delilah to get that one up on Drew? These and other questions arise and kept me turning the pages to find out!

This was a sexy read. It was not overly graphic nor overpowered the story in sex scenes but it was more of a natural progression of the relationship between Delilah and Jock. I would recommend this to anyone over the age of 18. It was also written in my favorite dual POV format. This helped to fully understand the characters.

I also hope that the author continues to write in Last Stand (especially with the Rossi family next!) Fingers crossed here!

Sweet and fun

A fun and heartwarming story. I absolutely loved the characters. I enjoyed the connection and it had the right amount of chemistry. I enjoyed the storyline and loved reading more about our favorite couples. This story not to be missed.
