That Year

So many great passages, insights, and dialogue in this book. I love the pacing and the manner in which Simcha doesn't let anything irrelevant get dragged into the proceedings. Especially loved the descriptions of Kathleen and Emily later in the book. I also love that Simcha's writing might puzzle some people, but it hits me in the heart and I always hear his unique voice, always swelling with sweet emotions and passion. There is so much quiet & subtle beauty in That Year. Simcha knows what he's doing with shaping these lovely words. I'm going to read this again SOON. xox

I was hooked from the first paragraph. I knew people like this - I WAS people like this. The flow just put me where they are - where I was - in a way that I just liked and wanted to go on their journey. Evy speaks to me, and for me. I don’t get that often. Really good read.
