The 12-Hole Standard

To Golf's purists and the tens of millions that love the game of golf, the archaic 18-hole standard is unintentionally killing the game you love. 


The 18-hole standard round, with it's required 4.5 - 6 hour time requirement and endurance level, has been steadily growing more unattractive over the last decade or more to millions of 21st century life styles. It's a frustrating situation for thousands of golf course and country club operations, stuck waiting for something to change the decade long patterns of decline and stagnation.


Research indicates the Scottish originators played many different shorter and faster rounds (ranging from 5 to 12 holes) for centuries. 


Adding a 12-hole standard round to golf's playing menu (with it's 6 hole half-round) provides the antidote for golf's playing crisis, without changing the 18-hole standard one bit.


Remember, there are millions of golfers out there that would much rather play (and be better off playing!) a standard less than 18 holes.

Updating golf's playing menu to include the 12-hole standard round (and 6-hole half-round) will naturally by pure attraction and convenience cause more opportunities to develop for existing golfers to find more time to play, bring large numbers of golfers back into the game, and bring on tons of newcomers willing to experiment playing a shorter-faster-higher-intensity game.
