The Accident

Set in England during the Napoleonic Wars, it is a story of a young girl denied a mother's love and was held back from the social world. The accident took her mother's life and also crippled her father. At seven-and-ten, instead of a come-out in London, she must take on the duty of nursing her invalid father and managing their estate. After her father died, his heir, Captain Beverly, was brought home with severe war injuries. Through many twists and turns, she learned more about life and love and finally learned the shocking truth about her mother. Even in her cloistered years, she reached out to help others. Then she found true love and her life began again.
