Theo Nash is starting to believe she can manage her life as an antique appraiser and powerful psychometrist, especially with her new protector, Gavin Hayes. But when the local theater director, Oscar Lowell, brings in a magnificent, antique Venetian mask, Theo's fragile calm breaks.

The present-day crime—the theft of valuable backstage blueprints—escalates rapidly. Theo realizes the mask's power is actively concealing the modern thief's identity and location.

Battling a debilitating sickness and her own mind, Theo must use her last remaining clue—a vision of a hidden trapdoor—to find the stolen property and unmask Oscar Lowell. But to truly save the theater and herself, she must risk one final, fatal touch and destroy the antique, or the curse will forever bind her to its secret shame.
