The Adventures of Jabber and Mumble

Jessica Blair Johnson and Allegra Francine Smith, better known as Jabber and Mumble, are best friends at a middle school in an affluent suburban city in Kansas. Jabber's breakneck, breathless stream-of-consciousness speech usually dominates any conversation with Mumble, who typically utters monosyllabic sentences barely audible to the average ear. But Mumble doesn't always mumble. Mumble stops mumbling when she's provoked. She stops mumbling when she's angry. She stops mumbling when she snaps. And that's bad. Very bad. But she's Jabber's best friend forever, and nothing can change it, not even a hormonal sociopathic rage that could kill crabgrass from twenty feet away. Because Jabber understands her best friend Mumble as no one else would ever be able to do. That's the love of a best friend.
