Publisher Description
Living along the Mississippi River in the 1840s, Aunt Polly raises three playful children—Tom, Sid, and Mary. Like most boys his age, Tom is adventurous, which is just another way of saying he gets into trouble. Yet Tom and his partner-in-crime, Huck Finn, get in over their heads when they witness a murder in a graveyard. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is an extraordinary classic of a young man’s creativity and affection, society’s hypocrisy, and the anxiety of an unpredictable world which has resonated through American culture for the past century. We can find a mischievous young child longing for an adventure somewhere within us all.

Tom sawyer
This is a fast paced story which you don't want to put down. You want to see what happens to Tom, and Huck, and Joe, and Becky.
This is the best
This is always a classic. This use to be my bible growing up. I would try to live through the entire book, just like he tries to be Robin Hood. Reading this now takes me back to all the dumb things I did and all the dumb things that I believed in. This book is perfect if you were ever a boy. Everyone should read this book. I definitely plan on passing down my old copy of this.
Pictures add to the book
I won't comment on the storyline other than to say it's very enjoyable as a leisure read. What stands this particular version apart is the cute sketches inserted in the book--this is why I chose this particular one. Highly recommended!
