Publisher Description
Afghan War was fought between British India and Afghanistan. It was one of the first major conflicts during the Great Game, the 19th century competition for power and influence in Central Asia between the United Kingdom and Russia, and also marked one of the worst setbacks inflicted on British power in the region after the consolidation of British Raj by the East India Company.

Good book, decent copy
This book is part of the historical record and is also under the Creative Commons license. Unlike some other similar books this one is well formatted for iBooks and is easy to navigate and read. The only drawback is that it’s missing images from the original but you can’t hold that against this book.
The book itself is a good and relatively breezy read. The language being old takes a little getting used to but otherwise it is a pretty straightforward and near-breezy read.
