Publisher Description
The Alzheimer's Journey is a handbook on Alzheimer's that provides caregiving resources, information, help and support for caregivers dealing with Dementia.
"A world without Alzheimer's"
While that is my dream, I am reminded daily of the challenges and struggles persons with dementia, spouses, families, friends, physicians, and professional caregivers face throughout the dementia journey. This is a journey, often spanning many years. While on this journey, there are periods of "smooth sailing," "fast moving currents," "rough waters," and "turbulent seas." But in the midst of the more difficult times, you will know that smooth sailing will return. Having lost both parents to Alzheimer's disease over a thirty year period and having continued to work with families of persons with dementia an additional twenty years, I have formulated some basic concepts and approaches that have proven effective in managing the ups and downs of this journey. This discussion articulates those concepts.

Invaluable Alzheimer's Resource
I had the great pleasure of working on this book with Barb and Gary Michels. The timing of this work was divine as my wife is caring for her dad who is suffering the debilitating disease of Alzheimer's and Dementia. The tape reel helped us to understand what we were going through and what we were about to face in the future. I highly recommend this handbook and hope that you share it with anyone that cares for a loved one or patient with Dementia. I pray it has the profound and life changing effect it had on us. Thank you Barb for laying your life experiences out for us all to learn and become better from. Blessings!
