The Actons are back!
This time they are in the cold of Antarctica. Another book in the series that has the professor and Delta tea fighting to save the archeological expedition members lives from unfriendly forces.
Antarctica Incident
I will preface this by qualifying the following review as one Mr Kennedy may not want to print for public consumption.
I liked the premise of the story but as much as I don’t like to be critical, I hope that the author will take it as constructive.
The writing is sophomoric. And the behavior of some of the characters just seemed more than a little hard to believe. The doctor and the nurse, we are led to believe, succumbed to an overwhelming passion for each other while feet away other people’s lives were in grave danger, not to mention their own if they’d been discovered. And the smart aleck banter between the two professors also strained credulity. They wasted precious time while professing that time was critical to saving their team and the other good guys. People were killed and the response from the leaders seemed to be almost apathetic. His use of phrases such “Shots rang out”, are repetitive in the extreme.
I would suggest that Mr. Kennedy read some Lee Child, some James Lee Burke and some David Baldacci, to name but a few, it might help him improve his ability to write more enjoyable prose and develop more believable characters and their behaviors in dire situations.
Again, the storyline had potential but it was almost painful to read.
