The famous Arabian Nights, originally collected under the title A Thousand and One Nights, is an anthology of medieval folklore compiled during the Islamic Golden Age. The tales trace their roots to ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian folklore and literature.
