Publisher Description

The Autobiography of James T. Kirk chronicles the greatest Starfleet captain's life (2233–2371), in his own words. From his birth on the U.S.S. Kelvin, his youth spent on Tarsus IV, his time in the Starfleet Academy, his meteoric raise through the ranks of Starfleet, and his illustrious career at the helm of the Enterprise, this in-world memoir uncovers Captain Kirk in a way Star Trek fans have never seen. Kirk's singular voice rings throughout the text, giving insight into his convictions, his bravery, and his commitment to the life—in all forms—throughout this Galaxy and beyond. Excerpts from his personal correspondence, captain's logs, and more give Kirk's personal narrative further depth.

Great Read

For a fan of the original series the book was a great read cover to cover. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was well worth paying for.

Relive all the great episodes

Written in first person, you get to relive all the great episodes of TOS and movies 1-7 from Kirk's personal point of view.
A excellent, fast paced read which you have difficulty putting down and are sad when it's over.
How about an autobiography of Spock and the others?

A fun read

The only thing that would make this book better is if they got William Shatner to read it as an audiobook. It was fun to read the little bread crumbs we got through the series and movies about Kirk's background done up as an autobiography. If you like the original series read this book, it's fun.
