The Bad Behaviour of Good People

People are neither bad nor good, they are both. I am good today, but I have been bad, and I retain the potential to be bad again, very bad in fact. And when I am bad, goodness beckons. Most criminals are most of the time law abiding. Most law abiding people regularly break the law, especially with transgressions, lying to get their kids into a better school for example, are tolerated by their friends and family. This is how, when the world fragments, in wartime for example, ordinary people find themselves committing heinous, but in the context, socially acceptable crimes.
